Hi everyone,
So I had an idea on Monday to create a SaaS focused on lead generation and providing quality leads to various niches. Well, I worked on that idea these past two days and with my prior experience in running a Webflow Agency, it wasn't very hard to do so.
Here is a link to the project: https://www.dollarleads.co/
Now I'm stuck in regards to launching on PH or not, a few reasons:
Why I should:
Good traffic and if it goes well I got a bunch of site visitors and hopefully sign-ups 🤞
Good for SEO since PH has a great domain rating and gives a backlink
Why I'm hesitant:
A lot of people launch on PH and consider it the end if it doesn't go well.
Some people may think that the pricing is a bit high
I've already launched 6 products of which 2 of them got featured
I was left with a bad taste in my mouth when I launched R-Memberships (now RoFlow) and it got quite a few upvotes in the first few hours, but didn't get featured.
Would love to hear some thoughts on this :)
I don't really see a downside to it. Most of the negatives you listed are physiological and re pricing better to get the feedback at an early stage rather than wait weeks wondering why people aren't converting. Go for it imo.
Well said, I think you're right. Perhaps it is just a mental hurdle.
If you can directly reach your customers through phone or email, that is 100 times better than Product Hunt for launching. I feel the best benefit of PH is to be had by going through a hunter after your product has had the first 50 paying, happy customers or so.
From what you've mentioned, I think the upsides weigh more than the downsides.
Downside Pt 1 is your own mindset. You can control that.
Pt 2 might seem like smth you can't control. But you can control it by helping them see more value.
Feels like not getting featured is a big concern according to pt 3, 4..
To mitigate the downsides, maybe try building it up more or gaining more followers first. So more people can upvote for you and it can get featured?
Have you read this? Hope it might help! :)

Thank you!
I think you should go for it. The downsides are not that big, and is mostly what you think.
If you are going to do it, just make sure you do it right. I launched my SaaS on there and it was super frustrating because I totally botched the entire thing by doing this the wrong way. It is definitely a valuable resource as far as getting some initial traction.
Interesting.
If you don't mind me asking, do you know how/why you "botched" the launch?
If you want to make hype - go to Product Hunt.
If you want to find customers - go to customers.

A couple of observations before you do post it on PH:
I would get a native English speaker to review all your copy (you have a number of text elements that don't sound right/are poor grammar)
You may not want to give too much away, but the obvious thing I'd want to know before parting with any money is how you source your leads/how warm are they. You don't give this detail on your site.
Thank you, I did write the copy for it at 2AM and didn't double-check 😅
You're a life saver!
Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to add that :)
