To people who've got lots of ideas, what are some of yours?

Ideas are worth a dime a dozen, so share away!

    • JIRA competitor (JIRA seems to be leaving on-prem, so might be a hole there, also JIRA is super complicated, maybe enough people would be happy with something simpler).

    • An app to get someone into the habit of doing something. First idea was for someone who wants to start a diary but just forgets to write down their ideas, but I think the idea could work for any habit.

    • Artifactory alternative. It's big and fat and slow. All it does is serve files!

Haha, yes, Jira. I'm working on Portabella but there are many, many alternatives out there. ClickUp, Linear, Asana, Write, Taiga, just to name a few. Honestly there's probably 1000+ profitable companies in this space.

Habit tracker seems tough as you're expecting individuals to pay?

A artifact repository is interesting, probably a hard sell, especially as an Indie Hacker. Need to ensure super high availability before you're gonna get any customers.

      Thanks for your ideas!

I have my own project management tool that adds an overlay to GitHub that is in alpha https://proma.acsl.se

I don't think an artifactory replacement needs to necessarily be super high availability, I think it's more likely that it's just a super boring piece of infrastructure and artifactory has name recognition.

          Nice, similar to ZenHub?

Yes, although currently all it does is sync data with GitHub and give you a global view of what's going on in GitHub repos you care about. So it's like a search engine for GitHub.
