It's certainly making me rethink how to build an MVP!
I'm too much of a perfectionist, especially with my code. Think I need to take a more scrappy approach and get something out into the world.
Not as goal in itself I guess!
The ratio of lines of code to revenue seems pretty great to me.
edit: obviously not my tweet, check out Reilly on Twitter to keep up with his journey.
oh, I thought that was another person who had done that!
I submitted this tweet as I thought IndieHackers needed to hear it 🙂
Link is to actual tweet and title is simply the first few words of the tweet.
Would be better if you could adjust the title to reflect that.
Right now, your use of "I" in the current title of "Today I'm open sourcing the code that I've made $500K off of" also created the wrong impression for me that you are the Tweet's author.
The MVP of my most-successful project to date was a very, very ugly vanilla PHP project with a bunch of copy-pasta code from other projects. I built the whole thing in 2 days, made 5 figures from it before rewriting the whole thing.
I probably would have used a better framework or language, but at the time the only Microsoft code samples available for the API I wanted to use was in .NET or PHP.
🤷🏼♂️
It's really cool to see your journey from that "I got fired" tweet to today. Thanks for the inspiration.
To be clear, I simply posted Reilly’s tweet here. I’m not the OP 🙂
Hope I can get to those revenue numbers some day.
