It's been just over a week since I posted my intro here and launched Toolivoo on Product Hunt. Time for an honest first update.
---
What happened after the launch
The Product Hunt launch was quiet but useful. No front page, no flood of users — but I got a few real backlinks, some genuine feedback, and the push I needed to stop tweaking in private and start shipping in public.
The main thing I learned: launching is not distribution. It's just a starting pistol. The real work starts after.

What I've been doing this week
1. Directory submissions
I started going through a list of free tool directories — AlternativeTo, SaaSHub, and a few others. Writing descriptions that don't sound spammy takes more time than I expected. Each one needs to be tailored slightly to the platform's audience and format.
2. SEO cleanup
I've been improving the on-page SEO for individual tool pages. Things like tightening title tags, adding proper meta descriptions, and making sure each tool page answers the exact query someone would type into Google (e.g. "compress PDF online free").
3. Fixing small UX issues
A few users pointed out friction points I had gone blind to. Things like the upload button not being obvious enough on mobile, or the lack of a clear "what can this tool do" explanation at the top of each tool page. Fixed most of them.

Early numbers (honest)
- Revenue: $0 (Toolivoo is free, no monetization yet)
- Visitors: still in early days, mostly direct and referral traffic from the PH launch and IH post
- Google impressions: starting to see a trickle as tool pages get indexed
Nothing exciting yet — but the foundation is being built.
---
What I'm focused on next
- Continue directory submissions (aiming to get listed on 10+ quality directories this month)
- Write one SEO-focused blog post targeting a high-intent query (e.g. "how to compress a PDF without losing quality")
- Improve the homepage above-the-fold: make it immediately clear what Toolivoo is and why it's different

One question for the IH community
For those of you who've built free utility tools: at what point did SEO traffic start to feel meaningful? And did you focus on the homepage or individual tool/feature pages first?
Would genuinely love to hear from people who've been in this stage.
