Pricing - Decoy Effect
The decoy effect is the cognitive bias where people tend to switch to a more expensive item when an inferior one is introduced. I.e., when there are only two options - people make a choice based on their personal preferences. But when offered a third option (priced a little lower than the most expensive one and/or with much worse features), they are more likely to choose the more expensive of the original options.
Search Autocomplete
Adding or improving on a search box increases the average search length. Having good auto-complete changes what gets searched, making the searches more specific and relevant. And by making the searches more specific, the quality of the search result becomes better, making people more likely to click on them. So as search length increases so does the conversion rate. You can track how well your website is performing by measuring the CTR from your website's search results page.
Flip the Funnel
Give users a preview of the product in order to convert more users. You'll have an easier time making them sign up once they've seen the value, and you might lose less users before getting that value.
Content Pruning
Content pruning means distancing yourself from low-quality content. You want to do this because it will help you rank higher, as Google rewards website authority. Searching around, you'll see that Hubspot has a decision tree outlining specifically how to figure out if your content is bad or not.
Don't redirect to the cart when adding an item
After clicking "Add to cart", don't redirect the user but show them a modal with 3 options, let them decide: view cart, continue shopping or checkout directly.
Move Account Creation After Successful Purchase
Allowing customers to checkout as a guest saves them the need to create an account which can be annoying. It also enables you to collect information on their purchases.
Those are very helpful strategies, thanks a lot!👍
