I built a Markdown-based writing platform, kind of like Medium. I noticed a bunch of people would sign up, make a post, and then make zero edits. I got the feeling people were confused how to actually use my product (even though I have really clear docs). I figured a video tutorial would help, but I hate making videos.
I started contacting freelancers on UpWork to help me, but I quickly realized that it was going to cost me thousands of dollars. I realized I was going to have to do it myself. Fuuuu
Long story short, I ended up hiring someone to sit and watch me edit. Their job was to coach me, tell me how to improve my process, help me when I got stuck, etc. I didn't mind paying a premium for the help because I only needed an hour here and there.
This turned out to work like a charm. And now for the shameless plug..
I just published my first tutorial video.
Quite happy with how it came out.
Nice video!
Suggestion: I would advice to describe your product as Notion with extended markup, not Medium that is for creating content.
Interesting idea, and I’m sure there was a lot of engineering into it. Looking forward on how it evolves. Best of luck!
Thanks. I've heard this before, but I've been reluctant to reference Notion because I've never used it myself. Guess it's time to dig in.. Thanks for the idea and feedback!
