Tracking CTR for links in posts, comments, etc

The advice for marketing your products is usually to create content on different platforms.

But how do you track the CTR of different content across various social media sites, blogs, etc?

For example - I may post content on Reddit which contains a link back to my site, how do I find how many users clicked on that link for that particular post on Reddit?

UTMs are your friend. I don't like to overdo it, but if there is a network you are going to invest in then setting up UTM parameters for the links you post there is a great way to attribute traffic and activity to that network. the backrooms

Yeah, UTM is mostly the way to go if you are/want using Google Analytics. Like the other people here suggested.

    For Google Analytic 4:

(For older GA, google it please)

I simply used bit.ly for that, but I can't recommend it. You need to manually create a separate link for each product. By the way, looks like LinkedIn replaces that links :(
Does anyone know how to solve it?

Looks like a lot of people are recommending the use of UTM parameters, that should work on LinkedIn as well

As most people mentioned the easiest way is to use UTM parameters on your urls, that way you can keep track of the different sources, referrals, campaigns, etc you are running.

You can use UTM link generator (I made this) to generate your links or there is a Free Google Sheets template you can download, if you need to manage a lot of links you can use the UTM Spreadsheet template

Got it thanks! Would you recommend also shortening the URL that contains the UTMs?

No problem! Sure, they can help with measuring analytics of your links (though you also get that with Google Analytics). Since I use relatively few tracking URLs these are always a nice to have for me, but it depends on how many different URLs you want to create and track.

Or a hacky way is to use a link shortner, with different links for different sites.
