Trademark protection: how useful is it for indie hackers?

I have created a game https://halfchess.com and it took me a few years of slow creation to get to this point. It does not have traction as of now and I am trying to crack distribution.
My quick question is -
Should I get a trademark protection for HalfChess ?
When is a good time to get one - at what stage?
Anyone who has regrets here (of not using a trademark protection).
Could be useful for protecting a high value domain against a UDRP but otherwise a lower priority until you generate a lot of revenue to protect
