Traditional Oak Doors Built for Non-Standard Openings

The nightmare of period home renovation: nothing fits. You measure the doorway, order a standard door, and it is either 15mm too narrow or the proportions look completely wrong against original architraves.

That is exactly why we stopped treating doors as a catalogue item and started treating them as joinery.

Every door in our traditional range is available made to measure. Send a photo and dimensions, and we will quote it. Internal ledged and braced oak, traditional four and six panel, the cleaner Oak Mexicano line, plus FD30-certified fire doors where building control demands them. Externally, cottage oak and pitch pine for Victorian townhouses.

The detail that matters more than most people realise: all our timber is kiln dried. Undried oak moves, twists and shrinks after installation, which is how you end up with a door that sticks every summer and rattles every winter. Kiln drying takes the movement out before it reaches your frame.

Most of the range is handmade, so non-standard openings are normal work rather than a special order.
