Trello as a lite CRM for early sales, do you have this problem too?
Hi all, I'm a software entrepreneur. Type12 is my third SaaS business (one got shut down, one got acquired), and I've always struggled using Trello as a lite CRM to track the first leads and sales (between 0 and 10k MRR).
I'm curious, what are you using to track leads and send cold emails?
I thought that for those that start using Trello to organize leads, would be extremely useful (or at least to me) also being able to send cold emails directly from the Trello sales board.

.@alexhillman and I much prefer Streak CRM which lives in Gmail. It's kanban-y, but all the email/contact stuff is right there, which makes it more valuable and quicker to use than Trello for this.

Especially in the early days, I'm a big fan of close.io - it's really flexible (not a kanban layout) so great for those early days when you don't have a rigid sales funnel yet.
You don't notice the productivity increase after the first few days really, but try running sales for 2+ weeks with close.io and you'll be amazed at how much time you save (and how well you keep your leads warm)

This does sound useful to me, however I'm struggling a bit with how it works. I see you have images to describe the process, but they are very text-heavy and the low resolution makes them unreadable to my tired old eyes... is there any way you could sharpen them up a bit?

If you're familiar with Trello it's a power-up (https://trello.com/power-ups), you install it in your Trello board and it'll let you send emails directly from the card itself. (you have to specify the parameters like first name and email like shown in the card sample in the image)
I've found painful the switching between Trello and Gmail to send cold emails. Just started to solve this problem for my me and thought I just wasn't the only one. Maybe I am :)
I'm not a fan of Trello for this, personally. I'd much rather use a spreadsheet which is infinitely more powerful.
That said, I've had some fellow co-workers that used Trello for everything. So I'm sure there's someone interested in that...
