trrip.co landing page feedback

What do you think about https://trrip.co? Do you think $20/year is a good price point? Feedback much appreciated

If this has already been asked, I apologize for being redundant, but I'm curious about the problem that is being solved here?

Having an itinerary is usually the result of having planned something - that is, it's an outcome of another problem being solved.

Good question. You really got me thinking about how I can respond with a digestible answer, so here's my best shot. I see trip itinerary as THE most important document to have before the trip, during the trip, and after the trip.

      Before the trip:

      1. You need to do your research, usually a non trivial amount of research
      2. You need to organize this research over a span of independent days
      3. You need to put it all together in chronological order
      4. Share with friends+family once complete [optional]

      During the trip:

      1. Quickly be able to refer to it at a moment's notice
      2. Quickly jump to the right information based on current day and time

      After the trip:

      1. Be able to look back on it, nostalgia, memories, etc.

You can definitely accomplish this with google docs, quip, or a trello board. They're generic by nature though, and they don't optimize for the before/during/after. Trrip optimizes for the before/during/after. One could argue it's perhaps a better, more holistic tool for the job. That's the opportunity I saw and it happened to be exactly what I was looking for after feeling like quip wasn't adequate enough for my needs anymore. Does that help?

I am going to give you feedback regarding the visuals.

    1. The background.
    • Take into account the color psychology, that color puts me back, is very cold.
    • I would use a landscape picture as big as in Unsplash for example.
    1. The logo.
    • If Trrip is the logo, consider use capitals or a different font for it. In the best case, thicker.
    1. The card.
    • if you put the pictures in cards and in line with the the text underneath the visitor will not have to scroll that much.
    1. The price ans and features.
    • I would put more emphasis on them with 3 cards, each with a different bg color. To make them pop.
    1. Sign in.
    • I would put the "sign in / log in " right underneath the cards that I mentioned.

The price is really good. Even people that travel little would probably sign in...I mean is worth.

    Have a good one !

Thank you for taking the time to write this up.

      1. +1 for color psychology. I went with blue/green b/c it reminded me of the ocean, and the ocean reminds me of traveling!
      2. I like the idea of making Trrip uppercase. I will play with that idea.
      3. With text being directly underneath the image, it might be too linear for me. I'm not sure how much it would change the amount of scrolling needed?

        You are very welcome!

        1. That's fair...
        2. Good!
        3. Is not about you, but the visitor and get them to read all of your product.
          Are you using bulma?

I have an example here I made long time ago:
        https://codepen.io/MichaelAndreuzza/pen/YgmrRE?editors=1000

The pen is made with bulma

Looking really good, you're on your way.

    Some things to think about:

    • You've listed 4 things that I as the user have to "do". It requires my investment of time and effort (creating a schedule, uploading photos etc) not to mention the $20 investment.
    • What does this app actually do for me? What do I get in return? Whats in it for me?

You should totally flip the script on this page, lead with:

    1. What problem are you solving for me? Why do I need this?
    2. Maybe try coming up with a headline that explains what this app is like ie. "a cross between airbnb and uberEats" or "Google Calendar meet Instagram" or whatever. This gives people a familiar point of reference so they can quickly get what your app is about.
    3. What does trrip (seriously consider renaming this) actually do for me? Does it save me time? Does it make my trip go more smoothly? Does it suggest things I might want to add to my itinerary? Does it send me reminders of itinerary items? Does it integrate with the other tools I use to manage my time / travel? Does it give me a beautifully laid out, sharable itinerary so I can do away with the usual folder full of ugly printouts from hotels/airlines and car rental places?
    4. Consider letting me get started by creating 1 trip free. All you've given me is 4 small images, which isnt anywhere near enough to know if this is valuable to me at all. A really (I mean really) good product demo video might suffice without the need for a demo.
    5. Ask for money last.

    Hope this helps.

Very helpful so tyvm. As an exercise I'll try responding to each here:

      1. Trrip is a replacement for quip/google docs when it comes to your trip itinerary. So instead of using these docs, you can use trrip which was specifically designed for managing your itinerary in a simple, neat, and chronological way.

      2. Hm, the best way to think about it is that it's more similar to a web publishing site like Wordpress. Instead of creating a website and publishing it, you are creating trip itinerary and publishing that.

      3. I've done a lot of travel over the past couple years and my trip itinerary has always been there to make things run smoothly. So that's the goal, really. When you're done writing your trip itinerary you can "publish" it and get a unique link, i.e., asiamk.trrip.co. When going to this link your itinerary will be automatically formatted for you in a very readable/consumable way so that throughout your trip you are always 1 click away from having an easy point of reference. And, you can share this link with friends+family so they have a ballpark idea of where you are planned to be at any given time.

      4. Will consider this

      1. 2

How about exposing http://asiamk.trrip.co as the demo ? I learned more following that link than I did looking at the landing page.

        1. 1

I think this is a good idea!

      2. 1

Cool so all of the above needs to be communicated in your landing page.

You're banking on people having a similar problem to one you've faced (great reason to create a startup).

        Perhaps think about:

        1. Tell your story - tell people that you're a traveller who has always struggled with managing and sharing itineraries. This will a) give you credibility as an experienced traveller and b) hopefully trigger an "oh yeah, that does suck" moment in the reader.
        2. Boil points 1 and 2 in your response down into a product statement eg. "Google Docs meets WordPress" or something similar. This gives people a familiar point of reference so they quickly understand what to expect from your product.

        Best of luck.

@frankymaker I've updated the landing page based on a lot of your feedback and just wanted to share it with you again --> https://trrip.co

          1. 1

This is way more compelling to me (I may be biased :) ) Nicely done!

The only thing I'd perhaps suggest adding under each of your 3 key points is a related benefit, so for example:

"Trrip is a simple way to manage your trip itinerary in a chronological way."

Under this maybe add a subheadline in smaller text saying something like "Your whole trip, one simple view".

"Trip takes the itinerary that you build and creates a website out of it."

Under this maybe and add a subheadline like "Easy to share with family and friends".

(Also fix the spelling mistake in your brand name :))

"Trrip will make it easier for you to stay organized before, during, and after your trip."

Under this maybe a subheadline like "Eliminate planning mistakes and scheduling errors".

            1. 1

Great feedback thanks, I'll consider adding subheaders like this

    The price is absolutely okay.

The site's design is pretty. I love the gradients and the "for now" total simplicity of the logo. (when you want to redesign, consider contracting that to me)

Albeit, I think it's bad UX to ask for an intending customer's credit card right from the registration, especially the first page.

    You should consider the following;
    -a hands-on, live demo.
    or
    -perhaps 3-7days free trial.

With all that having been said, I am of the opinion that what you've got going is great, and I wish you absolute success with the startup. Congrats.

    1. 2

@Cirphrank 3-day trial period added to Trrip, thanks for the feedback!

    2. 1

tyvm for the feedback! A good demo would be great, although it might come at a cost. I'll think about a trial period, or like @frankymaker said, 1 free trip.
