Hi guys,

I feel like I was pretty unproductive today even though I spent over 5 hours straight trying to figure out how to make my grid responsive so I don't have to write a million media queries.

It is entirely possible(re: more than likely) that I made my image slide way too complex.

For whatever reason, grid auto-fit or auto-fill wasn't working. Flex wrap was also not appropriate for the content.

This one really stomped me, guys. Must have tried a million different ways to make it work before I was eventually saved by max-width and min-width.

Tried that much earlier actually but failed to make the parent container width 100% so it didn't work.

I definitely will be taking Kevin Powell's advice to take the mobile-first approach. This desktop first approach seems rather a more tedious and complex way to go bout it.

I am learning every day that making my goal the amount of focused time I can put in daily is a lot better than an output-based goal.

Like, there's just too much I still don't know to be imposing an arbitrary time limit on each project.

I'm in it for the long run. No need to set myself up for failure and loss of motivation.

So for me now, every day is 'chop wood, carry water' and trusting that eventually, it'll all add up into something pretty darn awesome.
