Try and pitch me my business in 6 words or less...

I recently launched a landing page and could use some feedback. https://www.scribbl.co/

I also recently pitched about 40 founders their business in 6 word or less based on their landing page. Check out my pitches.

    Random typographical feedback:

    • I think you should remove the extra letter-spacing in your headline "Stop Missing Details" – it looks strange.
    • I would recommend making your h1 text bold for emphasis
    • I would also recommend making your image descriptions into a san-serif font (probably Roboto Condensed like the rest of your page). Adding a serif font like Garamond seems out of place. If you want to add contrast between your text and headings, try making your heading Roboto Condensed and your body text just regular Roboto.

    Last, I would add an image in the banner above-the-fold so that people can see your idea right away. Probably a product image is good for now.

    Otherwise, looks good. This is text I would use in your banner. For new businesses, I think it's important to be very literal and specific, not abstract.

    Title ideas:
    "Scribbl auto-transcribes your conference calls" (if you're targeting conference calls in general)
    or "Scribbl auto-transcribes your [customer|sales] calls" (if you're targeting b2b/sales customers)

    Subtitle ideas:
    Our software transcribes your Zoom/Google Hangouts/Microsoft Teams/Cisco Webex conference calls in real-time so you can focus your energy on having a [great|productive] [conversation|discussion|customer call|sales call] instead of taking notes.

      Thank you for the thoughtful response and feedback.

      Do you have any landing pages that you create and would be willing to share. I am interested in seeing how you structure them.

      1. 1

        I don't really have anything personal to share since I am working on my first "indiehacker" product. I just have a fair bit of web design and marketing experience because in a prior job I used to provide marketing advice to e-commerce websites.

        One thing I do, though, is I bookmark websites that I come across that I like. https://basecamp.com for example always has clear messaging.
        https://slack.com is good too.

        Also, you can just Google something like "best saas landing pages" for lots of resources. Here are some I found:
        https://blog.chartmogul.com/saas-landing-pages-2017-analysis/
        https://www.landingfolio.com/category/gallery/saas/
        https://www.cortes.design/post/best-saas-landing-page-examples-inspiration/
        https://saaspages.xyz/

        I think your landing page has the basics solidly in place. Now keep iterating and improving it. Good luck!

    "Scribbl records the important details of your sales calls so you can look them up later" - how i understand the business.

    In 6 words: "Searchable snippets from your sales calls"

    IMO it's too hard to explain in 6 words. I think a short sentence can easily capture what you are doing though. Also nice work on your landing page, it gets your point across.

      Thanks for the feedback!

        One more suggestion, don't make it do that green flash before the splash header turns yellow. It looks bugged.

        1. 1

          I notice that but can’t seem to figure out why that’s happening. Thanks for the suggestion.

            Take a look at #promotedGalleryWrapper, .promoted-gallery-wrapper, .banner-thumbnail-wrapper, .sqs-featured-posts-gallery {
            background-color: #22de0d;
            }

            After you delete that value it should be fixed.

              Fixed... thanks!

    "Stop transcribing customer calls with typos"

    "Transcribes customer calls in no time"

    Giving it a try @urim_n_thummim

    My suggestion would be

    Better converting sales calls
    Transcribing every detail you need to convert leads

    I am focusing here on the benefits not the features. Once you've sold a higher conversion, you can then explain how your tool facilitates that through functionality.

    google cloud speech api? the challenge is how you sell it.

      How do you suggest I sell it?

    "Scribbl transcribes your conference calls."

    I checked it out and it looks pretty cool! I'm very impressed with the demo video, nicely done. The onboarding is really slick, too. A couple clicks and I'm in. I plan on trying it out next call!

    1. 1

      That’s awesome to hear! What type of call are you planning to use it on... discovery, demo, product feedback etc.?

    "real time transcription of conference calls" - sounds amazing if it works as well as it promises, although there are surely tons of other use cases for that tech than just conference calls? i.e. seems like maybe you're limiting yourself in a fairly stagnant dry vertical, unless that's on purpose?
    (podcast transcription springs to mind as some people prefer to read them or is that already a thing?)
