Hey all, over the past year I've discovered that lots of companies suffer productivity losses from neglecting to put a structure of rules in place for their Slack. Often, that leads to team members feeling like:
“I can’t keep up”, “I need to read all notifications”, “I’m constantly distracted by notifications”, "I can’t find stuff I need’.
I've decided to use the knowledge I've developed in this space to offer a consultancy service to these companies which helps them set Slack up correctly so their team can be more productive. My hope is it can help me better spot and solve problems for my own product https://getlowdown.com
I've stuck a landing page up here — https://slackproductivity.com
Any thoughts on this approach? Good/bad idea? Thanks!
Hey Steven,
Yep, I'd say it's a really good idea. Technically it's a concierge MVP for a slightly different product (than your main product), but it should help you spot problems, and help you get a signal re whether companies will engage with products like these (as they're both broadly in the same family).
As a quick aside, I'm not sure the headline on Lowdown is quite right. I understand it in principle ("An automated newsletter for your Slack community"), but I don't get why I need that, or that value it's seeking to provide. It might be worth going with a value-focussed headline instead.
Best,
Rob
Thanks! Yeah, I should have mentioned we're exploring how Lowdown can be used for teams so the consultancy is not entirely connected to what we're doing now.
Noted on the headline will take a look. Thanks again.
