Trying the indie hackers way of building a product - what do you think?
Hi guys,
Several weeks ago, we came up with ReviewDodo. Aiming to be a leading e-commerce review system. We came up with the idea and set up a landing page all in under 6 hours (we really enjoy hackathon-ish ways of working).
We're very excited about the idea and the landing page itself, though we're unsure about how to market this and if all content seems fair, understandable and professional. We'd love to get some feedback from you guys on how to improve it and boost interaction. Much appreciated!

Thank you as well for taking the time to check out the landing page and comment on it. Detailed feedback which we are definitely going to take a good look at. Some quick wins which are really going to improve the page indeed. (Need to improve mobile!)

=> Yes, we did look at templates indeed. Actually, we used a template - but not necessarily the best converting landing page template. This was kind of the product of a 6-hour hackathon and we didn't (yet) spend that much time on figuring out what the killer setup of the page should be. But fair point, I'm definitely sure there are better ways to set up the page!

=> We didn't actually to be honest, I guess this kind of relates to the point made above. But definitely will take a look at some!
What did you struggle with creating the landing page?
=> If I have to pick one, that would definitely be content. I'm not quite that good of a 'marketeer' or copywriter so to say. I enjoy doing it and learning in the process, but I'm sure I can be too friendly and not business-like enough. Guess that's something that can definitely be improved. Also defining real unique USP's can be a hard thing to do - but that's more something about the product rather than the LP of course.

Overall, I like it. Great job. Glad to see something that doesn’t look like every other LP out there.
Cute logo.
One thing that let it down for me was all the text is centered.
On iPhone the page scrolls horizontally and I think the nav at the top might need some attention as the menu seemed to be missing (check the font color ) .
And the claim at the top about being the worlds best is a little bit of a stretch - not sure how I feel about that claim TBH :)

Thanks for taking the time to check & reply! We've made the conscious decision to pick a theme but not necessarily the very first template we found which converts. Though, I'm not always sure if that's the best choice to go with.
Appreciate the positive feedback! I'm personally always in a battle with myself. Do we center text, or not. This time we chose to, not really sure why to be honest.
We're definitely going to fix the mobile issues - shouldn't be there! And I kind of share your opinion on the claim at the top. I know, we wrote it ourselves - haha. Think it was kind of a marketing 'trick' I guess to claim professionality. But now that I take another look at it - maybe it's just another cheesy tagline.
