Trying to figure out Column Triggers in Task Management - Help :)

Hi,
I am trying to wrap my head around adding action triggers to columns in Cogency's Task Management System. The basic idea is when an Issue ( aka Card ) is dropped on a column, some action needs to run.

Am I thinking correctly about this problem?
Are there better ways of solving it?

Any help/ thoughts are appreciated !!!

PS: I am doing the design in real-time so anyone is welcome to watch
