    1. 1

So.... what happened with the customer feedback?

      1. 1

I haven't gotten a response yet from those I sent, I will need to follow up a few times I think. Am going to try and cold email some others with a much lighter approach. The individual demo videos took a long time to make, and my email was probably WAY too long. I'm really bad at this part so will need to try different things.

    EPIC

    End of 2019
5 Paying Customers for AutomatedApi (0/5 - it remains unlaunched)

    End of April
Re-frame my consulting site around my new strategy
Finish basic site template work to facilitate content marketing around dogfooding AutomatedApi (1/3 templates built)

    YESTERDAY

    • ✓ work to make a client happy - Little side tracked yesterday, feedback from the client suggested horrible outcome but it turned out to be mostly incorrect or mis-communicated early requirements. At any rate, I had some work to do that sidelined pretty much all other items but turned out okay.
    • ✓School stuff - but there's always more :P

    TODAY

    • put up freely available versions of my templates in public to help other .net devs get shit done faster (includes building a simple home page for the shtuff)
    • write up blog post to accompany above

    KUDOS:
@sunshowerlisa great job getting this far, hope you kill it at that YC interview

In chrome I got an SSL error on your site. I recently setup SSL for my site, happy to help with that if you need any assistance.

On the site itself - when I read your headline, my immediate question was 'how does it work' - I wanted to see code samples, examples of the kind of endpoints you could host, screenshots, etc. Instead the info I got was kind of stating the obvious (save money, etc). Might be worth putting in more 'how it works' kind of info up front.

      1. 1

Thanks for the heads up on the SSL. It's supposed to be automated but it looks like I have some config to fix.

And actually I'm working on the code samples and such right now. It's a major missing piece of the product at the moment, and one which life has been unfortunately getting in the way of actually working on.

        1. 1

I got so sick of this that I started using the automatic certs DigitalOcean provides on their load balancers hehe

          1. 1

I may give them a look. I use another service (whose name escapes me right now) too for one site. Azure App Services have some slick extensions that manage LetsEncrypt certs automatically, but it seems I missed a step when migrating this site to it.

    2. 1

I got an SSL error as well. It looks like your Let's Encrypt certificate expired on April 9.

      1. 1

Thanks for the heads up, I've got that on my list for today.

  3. 4

    EPIC

    By end of 2019:

    5K MR (3.64 of 5K.)

    By end of April:

    • Validate concept.
First day of the experiment completed and it looks promising. Average Google Ad CTR for my industry is 2.69%. Jeanius is 19.32%. Average conversion rate for my industry is 2.81%. Jeanius is 36.81%.

    (Will update after 1 week.)

    LAST NIGHT

    • ✓ Hired VA for influencer posts.
    • ✓ Marinated. @csallen dropped another round of wisdom bombs in Sunday retro.

    TONIGHT

I actually had an epiphany last night based on @csallen's wisdom bomb.

    • Get VA started.
    • Flesh out new landing page for epiphany.

    KUDOS: @csallen. He's the man.

    WIP: Jeanius

    1. 2

What was the wisdom bomb epiphany?

      1. 2

I want to sit on the epiphany for a hot second. (And likely write a post about it.) I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it, want to make certain it's not a shiny ball and like to see the results of the experiment.

But @csallen called out @pcattori for thinking too damn small. And picking fruit that wasn't the lowest hanging.

So we'll see. Yesterday, I picked up my first client for $699. Tonight, I launch a landing page that'll take less than 2 nights to launch.

    2. 2

3.64 of 5k? You're killing it. Is that all from Happyendings?

      1. 1

        (Laughing!) Not 3.64K of 5K. 3.64 of 5000! But I'll get there!

  4. 3

    EPIC

    1. 2019
      • $50K annual revenue
    2. April
      • Get a remote sales job. interviews: 5
      • Do 10 customer interviews. 3/3/40 - interview/accept/ask

    YESTERDAY

    • Schedule 2 sales job interviews for tomorrow.
    • Apply to sales jobs.
    • Edit/personalize/email customer interview questions to the next founder.

    TODAY

    1. Do 2 sales job interviews.
    2. Schedule call w/ job board co-founder.
    3. Drink coffee and review these transcripts.
    4. Do weakness part of SWOT analysis.

    KUDOS
@sunshowerlisa kick butt today at YC!

    WIP Mindful

    1. 2

Great job going after those customer interviews! Any thoughts about you can increase conversion rate from "ask" to "accept"?

      1. 1

Thanks and YES! First, I'll start following up w/ folks. Second, reevaluate who and how I'm asking. I think these transcripts will show me several contexts to wrap the benefits of chatting w/ me.

Thanks, @vcmartins! Sometimes it's the quiet stuff that's hardest so squeeze in.

Any pre-peeks at the landing page you're concocting?
