Tuesday Edition: Daily Stand Up

Four days to complete your May epics! Get your ass in here!

Why?

That extra nudge of accountability to achieve even a small step on your IH journey each day.

To join in:

01 Share your epic (a big chunk of work with a meaty objective) you'd like to complete by the end of May.

02 Share what you accomplished yesterday.

03 Share what you commit to accomplishing today.

04 Comment on at least one fellow hacker's progress and give them an IH Point for their check in.

Optional:

05 Share your Work In Progress to underscore your accomplishments.

Then tune in the tomorrow to share how you did on your own tasks!

Contemplation and re-strategising https://257fixes.com stage till next Monday. Epic goal for June - 50 new customers. Inspired by a fellow IHer @abdoriani whose feedback is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Gathering data and content for the other two projects I'm working on.

    1. 1

Keep the hustle @milozo and keep me posted.

    Current Goals

    • Release MVP

    Weekend work

    • Initial database modeling done
    • Users can sign up, verify, login, create/edit/delete customers, create/edit/delete inventory items
    • Trashed the data model for inventory because firearm sales are complex

    Today's Work

    • Fix the firearm sales data model so that it is ATF compliant and works with non-regulated items
    1. 2

Welcome! Do you have a name for your project yet?

      1. 1

I don't, but it's ATF A&D/FFL Point of Sale software. Gotta think of something catchy.

    2. 1

Welcome to the stand up party! Have a target date for release?

      1. 2

Thanks! I love the idea for accountability.
No target date yet. I think I still need to define what composes the MVP. I just had the idea, did some research, and started tapping away sometime last week.

  3. 3

    First post for me.

Nothing done yesterday. Just got back from a camping trip with no internet service. Prior to that I had bootstrapped a new React project, working with a designer whose idea it was.

Today I have to catch up on my day job, and will try to get back into the swing on this. I have a small ticket I can try to work on to get my mind back into it (updating a CSS element). I'll also browse this thread so I can have some sense of what to comment on for y'all tomorrow. Mostly I just want to put something down here and start establishing a habit.

    1. 2

Welcome to the start up party! Love the commitment to complete just a small step! That's the stuff commitments are made of!

    2. 2

Welcome to the mix! What are you using for task tracking/planning?

      1. 1

        Thanks!
I am using gitlab.com for the wiki, issue tracking, kanban and of course source code revision control.

(Laughing!) I love this stand up! How big was that lake?

      1. 1

It's so small it's sometimes mislabelled a pond, so not too big, and I can swim all the way across with my kids. Probably a half mile across. there are a few beaches around it though, so I try to help every year and put the rafts out because I like being one of the first polar bears to jump in :)
