Turning a Single Line Pull Request into $350

Back in February I created my first digital product: Every side project on Hacker News from 2022-2017 in a Notion DB. I'd spent a significant amount of time compiling all the Hacker News side project threads and thought others might enjoy the stories too.

Last month, I decided to run a holiday discount and submitted to @tonydinh's "Awesome Black Friday Cyber Monday Deals". You can see that change here.

I really didn't expect much. The next week went really well however, with a slow trickle of sales totalling $384 from a number of different sources. I was over the moon having had a handful of sales earlier in the year.

Massive thanks to Tony for the effort in organising it and the hundreds of PR's he merged. Let this serve as inspiration for those of you who have yet to experience this. It's made me consider what other products I could build with my skillset.

I've since expanded it, to go right back to 2014 and covered the whole experience in my newsletter.
