Turns out we are faster than Stripe

We had an interesting email exchange with a potential customer regarding Raport. He brought our attention to Active Subscriptions metric. It turned out we calculated it in a way that didn't make sense for the end user. So we fixed that.

But then he shared a screenshot from his Stripe dashboard and his Raport dashboard. It showed the same date range and the same metric - Active Subscriptions. Raport was showing 291 Active Subscribers, while Stripe was showing 278.

After double checking the data it turned out that Stripe didn’t update the chart yet, while Raport did. That way we discovered that most metrics from Stripe are updated in Raport's dashboard faster than in Stripe’s dashboard!

This is some great value we provide that we were not aware of.

Stripe is probably relying on eventually consistent reads and prioritizing message delivery over ensuring the dashboard metrics are 1:1 with reality.

Congrats! This story can be a good thing to add to your landing page!

True, Stripe is most likely focusing on other things. This way they leave some space for companies like our to build something :)
