Twitter advice for newbies

I've been asking same question a while ago and the best advice was given by @Yannick_Veys - thanks 🙌

# 🦜 How to grow on Twitter by @Yannick_Veys

## I. First 100 followers

If you want to grow your account quickly beyond 100 followers - just do follow4follow.

Having an account with 100+ followers attracts more followers quicker.

Don't overdo it because it will hurt your engagement rate.

## II. Tweet about success

People love to see other people be successful. People want to follow other people's journeys.

Build credibility by showing numbers.

Tweet about how many people are on your email list / are on the waitlist / are interested in your project / number of users / revenue numbers.

## III. Add value to accounts

Add value to accounts in your niche.

Create a hidden list on Twitter and add people you want to connect with.

Once you comment on someone's timeline, RT them, follow them.

Pretty high chance people will follow back if they're in the same ballpark follower range, up until 1k followers.

## IV. Be nice with followers

If people follow you, always connect with them in the DM's.

Look at their timeline. What's a tweet that makes you happy? Mention that in the DM's. Don't ask for anything. Just let them know they made you happy.

## V. Do things without permission for big accounts

Select 3 - 5 bigger accounts in your niche.

Help them with something. Become their apprentice without permission. They will engage with you.

As you're into productivity, you can probably think of a lot of things that would help them and tie into what you do.

## VI. DM people for RTs

Ask other people's opinions (in the DM's) about something you're building.

Once you tweet about it, send the tweet to them in the DM's too.

Thank them for helping you—big chance they RT it.

Twitter is a place for an actual conversation.

Whether it’s to join or start one. And maybe have conversations around your topic.

So, that’s my advice.
