That 2023 announcement turned out to be more than a pricing change. For builders, the durable lesson is to isolate X access behind a capability layer: search, lookup, timelines, followers, and writes. Then pricing or authentication changes do not leak into product logic. Persist cursors, rate-limit state, request IDs, and idempotency keys so provider changes become operational events, not rewrites.
Xquik is an X/Twitter API alternative for those common read and automation workflows. It provides normalized REST and SDK contracts, cursor pagination, and durable write status. It does not replace every official endpoint. Ads, compliance, counts, and edit-history requirements still need an explicit capability check.

I don't really have a problem with this change.
ROFL....There are hundreds of extensions, apps, and websites that are using Twitter API... seems party is over folks!
