Hi!
Recently I was thinking about getting back to Twitter (or x?) in order to get some clients (I do webapps with Angular). That said I am a total noob when it comes to posting, what to write, when, to motivate myself and so on.
Do you guys have some playbook you go by? Be it a book/challenge/tutorial or anything of this sorts that could set me or anyone else on a right track?
Thank you very much for your input!
Start with Twitter's business resources, read social media marketing books like those by Gary Vaynerchuk, take online courses, follow industry leaders, and prioritize consistency and experimentation in your posts.
Any specific courses you would recommend?
I think the biggest 'tip' is to approach twitter for networking. Not focusing publishing and building an audience, necessarily.
This one of the main ideas taught by @kevon (check out his Twitter)
X is full these days with content producers. What's different is people who connect genuinely. After awhile, you build a circle of friends who support you and engage with your work -> and that gives you the exposure.
anyway, to your question he has a build in public BootCamp of sorts you can join. Or you can get his book on how to build a twitter audience: https://www.amazon.com/Find-Joy-Chaos-Connections-Opportunities/dp/9887649104
Well, I didn't think that networking part is more important than audience building, thanks! (Are we friends now? Am I doing it right? :D)
Haha sure! What's your Twitter handle? I'm https://twitter.com/benjaminboman_
Dickie Bush has a lot of great content about writing for Twitter, try checking out his 2 year test framework
If you're aiming for more reach, It mostly depends on your follower count. Think of twitter like a give and take platform. The more effort you put into the plartform the more you get. If your account is below 1000 for example, you need to focus on making 'true fans'. This is done by commenting on other people post(in the same niche ofcourse) and sending personalised messages to your new followers. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I could make a whole essay on strategies you can adopt based on your current position
Great question!
Growing your Twitter audience requires a combination of strategies to increase visibility, engagement, and follower acquisition. Here are some effective methods to help you grow your Twitter audience:
Optimize Your Profile: Ensure your Twitter profile is complete, including a profile picture, cover photo, bio, and website link. Use relevant keywords in your bio to make it searchable and appealing to your target audience.
Consistent Branding: Maintain consistent branding across your Twitter profile, including your profile picture, cover photo, and bio. This helps create a cohesive and recognizable brand identity.
Tweet Regularly: Be active on Twitter by tweeting regularly. Share interesting and relevant content, including articles, videos, images, and retweets. Aim for a mix of original content and curated content from others.
Use Hashtags: Use relevant hashtags in your tweets to increase their discoverability. Research popular hashtags in your niche and include them strategically in your tweets to reach a larger audience.
Engage with Others: Engage with your followers and other Twitter users by responding to comments, retweeting interesting content, and participating in conversations. This helps build relationships and encourages others to engage with your content.
Host Twitter Chats: Host Twitter chats on topics relevant to your niche or industry. Invite industry experts, influencers, and followers to participate in the chat, and use a designated hashtag to promote it.
Run Twitter Contests and Giveaways: Organize contests and giveaways on Twitter to incentivize engagement and attract new followers. Encourage participants to retweet, like, and follow your account for a chance to win prizes.
Promote Your Twitter Account: Promote your Twitter account across other marketing channels, such as your website, email newsletter, and other social media platforms. Encourage your existing audience to follow you on Twitter.
Collaborate with Influencers: Partner with influencers and industry experts in your niche to reach their followers and expand your audience. Collaborate on content, host joint Twitter chats, or cross-promote each other's accounts.
Monitor Analytics: Use Twitter Analytics to track the performance of your tweets, identify your most engaging content, and understand your audience demographics. Adjust your strategy based on insights to optimize your Twitter growth efforts.
By implementing these strategies consistently and engaging with your audience authentically, you can effectively grow your Twitter audience over time and increase your reach and influence on the platform.
This seems like a GPT answer to me by its structure & flow, sorry if it isn't.
For my app DeckFilter I do giveaways of Steam games cause Steam Deck players are my main customers. That drove 1k followers in 1 month.
I also use an auto follow tool called Owlead that’s helps a bit.
Besides if post about the app and my progress and useful stuff for my audience.
It doesn't need to be complicated. Like every marketing endeavour, you need to put your audience first. Think carefully about who you want to target.
Then create some content that addresses their pain points. You need that content to show people that you're knowledgable in your field. (That's the media part of social media).
Spend time engaging with tweets from your target market. Provide feedback, encouragement, and just be your genuine self. (That's the social part of social media).
Set aside some time each week to come up with 5 to 7 tweets that you can schedule throughout the following week. Batching tasks together is usually most efficient.
Also set aside some time on a daily basis to engage with other people in your target market.
At first, the going will be slow. It will take you time to do these things. But the more you do them the better and faster you'll get. You'll find shortcuts and discover efficiencies in your process.
Certainly! Here's a simplified version:
