Twitter client for makers: Gauging interest

Hey friends,

In the spirit of "minimize input to maximize output" I decided to build a twitter client that helps you stay focused on your task, instead of trying to suck you into the timeline.

I built this mainly for my own amusement, but wanted to gauge interest in this and similar ideas before I move on to something else.

This is an early rough prototype (it works though). Most work has gone into making the API calls work, and less into UI/UX polish.

Basic features starting out

  • no timeline (later maybe I'll have a time limit, or limited timeline but for now it's zero)
  • see your mentions, and your own tweets, and you can reply

High level principles

  • Don't take you out of the maker flow. Let you get in, share your progress, get out.
  • Allow you to interact with your audience.

Some people accomplish this by following zero people.
This kind of emulates that.

Other ideas that I'm considering

  • Inbox for managing mentions and DMs
  • Hey-style notifications (per person / thread)
  • Easy UI to help make tweet storms
  • No timeline, or heavily modified timeline (maybe a time limit for viewing, or only during certain days / time periods)

Any of this resonate? Thoughts?

If your thought is "not for me" or "meh" or "I can't see the vision" happy to hear those comments as well.
