The UK government has extended IR35 to the private sector. I really need to create my own product and stop contracting. The law should be put in place from 2020.
The UK government has extended IR35 to the private sector. I really need to create my own product and stop contracting. The law should be put in place from 2020.
IR35 has been in the private (and public) sector for quite a few years. The change is that currently it is the contractor that is responsible for declaring their contract's IR35 status, from 2020 it will be the company employing the contractor that is responsible stating if the contract falls under IR35.
What was seen in the public sector when this change was made is that no department runs the evaluation, since it takes an understanding of IR35, time, and money. Instead they just play safe and put all contracts into the IR35 bucket.

Yes, it seems that it will be applied to the medium/big companies.
