🚀 UniDrop Public Beta is LIVE! A 3-in-1 app for truly cross-platform file sharing, web links, and clipboard sync.

Hey everyone,
After months of solo development, today's a huge day for me. I'm officially launching the public beta of my app, UniDrop!

The Problem:
Like many of you, I live in a mixed-device world. Getting a file from my iPhone to my Windows PC always felt like a chore. I wanted a single, beautiful tool that made sharing between any device as seamless as AirDrop.

The Solution: UniDrop
UniDrop is my answer. It's a cross-platform app for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows that unifies your sharing workflow.

It has three core features:

  1. Nearby Share: Uses a fast, private P2P connection (via WebRTC) to send files of any size to devices on your local network.
  2. Web Share: Generates a temporary, secure link to share files with anyone, even if they don't have the app.
  3. Universal Clipboard: Lets you pair your devices to instantly sync your clipboard content.

My Ask for the IH Community:
I'm not here just to "launch," but to invite you to be the very first users and help shape the future of the product. The app is in beta, so it's not perfect, but it's ready for real-world feedback.

I'm especially looking for your honest thoughts on:
The Onboarding: Is it as "zero-setup" as I hope?
The Core Experience: Does it actually solve a problem for you?
Bugs: What's broken? I'm ready to listen and fix things fast.

Where to Get It:
You can find all the beta download links (TestFlight, Google Play, etc.) and a quick demo video on the official landing page:
https://getunidrop.app
This has been a huge solo effort, and launching it is both exciting and terrifying. Any feedback, support, or tough questions you have would mean the world to me.
Thanks for checking it out!

Huge congrats on the public beta launch, DavPad! As someone who helps founders share their products across Reddit communities, I can say UniDrop is the kind of tool that gets people talking because it solves a real everyday friction point. A lot of users here live in that mixed-device world, so the “AirDrop but truly cross-platform” angle is a strong hook.

The three-in-one setup is smart too file transfer, web links, and clipboard sync all in one place makes the experience feel intentional rather than another single-feature utility app. If your onboarding really is as close to zero-setup as you’re aiming for, that alone will make adoption a lot smoother for non-tech users.

If you keep sharing updates, especially bug fixes and how people are using the P2P sharing in the real world, you’ll attract solid early testers here. Excited to see how the beta evolves!

Wow, thank you so much for this incredibly insightful and validating comment.

You've perfectly articulated the core vision I'm aiming for with UniDrop. I'm glad the "3-in-1" approach and the focus on a "zero-setup" experience resonate. It's reassuring to know I'm on the right track.

Your final point is a fantastic piece of advice. I'll definitely focus on sharing regular updates about bug fixes and real-world use cases as the beta progresses. That's my plan for keeping the community engaged.

Thanks again for the encouragement and the great feedback!

Really glad the insights were helpful, DavPad!

Since you’re already moving in the right direction, the next big win is making sure your updates actually reach the right subreddits and spark the kind of conversations that bring in early adopters not just upvotes.

As someone who manages Reddit growth for founders, here’s where I can support you:

Helping you share your updates in communities where people genuinely care about cross platform tools

Crafting posts and comments that feel human and build trust, so your beta doesn’t come off as promotional

Mapping out a simple Reddit strategy for your public beta phase including timing, angles, and engagement

Showing you how to turn user feedback from Reddit into visibility and traction

Happy to walk you through it!
