Unique Pricing for a product hunt launch

Hi, so basically we are launching our product convertixo.com on product hunt on 29th August, where we convert websites into apps within 5 minutes.

We have decided to provide android app for free and charge a one time fee for iOS.

So I want to ask is what do you think about the pricing? because we have seen other companies provide the same service with subscriptions but we don’t see any point in that because it’s one thing thing like we create the app only one time right?

Others are just charging a subscription for the updates, it’s not like they are letting them create unlimited apps.

We have also added the option to edit the apps whenever they want.

Please share your feedback, what do you think about this model?

I think we will be profitable because I was doing the same business on fiverr and very few people ever wanted only android apk/aab, they always had the need for the source code or the iOS app, so the free users will be covered by the paid.

What if doing some dynamic prices tests?

    1. 1

That’s a really good idea, I guess we will try it in the next launch.

What if doing some dynamic prices tests? I guess tools like chargebee offer some kind of A/B or multiarmed bandits tests for prices. I haven't use it yet personally but it's on my table.

Prices are not the issue, but we just want feedback on if the people will like the one time model or the subscription model more?

The whole idea above was to use a multiarmed bandits model that will automatically adapt between one time payment vs subscription model. And I guess the service above could help with that. It's easy enough to implement, directly focus on users' actions and automatically adapts contrary to an A/B test which is often incorrectly interpreted and statistically irrelevant.

i think you're pricing model makes sense, as subscriptions don't really make sense for your use case. However, maybe a tiered pricing model to edit apps whenever a user wants (higher price to edit)?

Yeah, that’s a really good idea I guess we can add a addon for a specific extra charge which allows them to edit unlimited times, thank you, would love your support on the launch
