Unlimited fully developed websites for a flat monthly price?
Folks, I've got some questions and would love to hear your thoughts on this. In spirit of what @Vinrob is doing with free designs, is there a need or a market for "unlimited" fully developed websites (in Webflow) for a monthly fee?
- Is this something you would personally use or pay for?
- What do you think of this as a service? Potential problems, challenges?
- If I launch this, any ideas for price points?
Right now I have the time and capacity to build out landing pages, full websites and even CMS templates. I would only start on this if I was able to secure a handful of paying customers right away as I imagine the fee I would charge would be far below what I would normally get from a project directly.
Ugh, we have tried, on many occasions, to push development services in different packages and it has been very hard for us. For one, there is the whole DIY scene which many people use. Those people are not likely to convert because they can do it themselves (even if their wix site looks like crap), main point for them seems to be getting it out there.
Second category is people who want to hire someone and are willing to pay more. Within that category you have sole proprietors, small business, large businesses. I'm guessing the last one is going to choose someone they have worked with before; an all-around established design firm. I interviewed with a larger, local company who does web design services and that's exactly what their business model was.
That leaves the small business. Those leads tend to come from word-of-mouth and recommendations, for what I have observed. They also have less $$ than larger businesses. For this category, you need to get people talking about you and your services and trust the result so much they are willing to invest in it. So far that has not happened for us. If you figure this out give me some tips!
It's something that exists for backend, web dev, and apps, so it can work for sure.

Naturally, much of this depends on the price - what are you thinking?
Hmm, I haven't given much thought to price yet or how that will balance with the amount of work you get for that price. I realize it might be tough to make it work financially if the price is too low (hence why a decent site from an agency can easily go for 10-30k). I'm curious as to what people might be willing to pay for that.
It sounds good for start but I don't know how it will scale up.
You need to be sure about the developers you'll be hiring later on apart from the usual quality in check for the results.

Check webflow.com out - it's a designer focus website builder with amazing capabilities. Competes very heavily with Shopify, Wordpress, Wix, Squarespace, etc..
