Updated landing page after initial feedback, need new feedback!

General feedback after initial launch of read15minsaday.com was: very nice and clean landing page, attractive, but not easy to understand what the product is.

So I updated the landing page.

Can you give me feedback on this new version: read15minsaday.com

Thanks!

I signed up. I liked the search functionality but I'm not really sold on the idea. Most of the times I read is while I commute or in bed. I could see this as a new habit where I start reading on my desk but probably it would be easier for me to schedule a time for that. For example - send me an email so I can see it and in the email fwd to the page. I don't know - just an idea on top of my head. In terms of the landing page - I really like it. Especially the animation part at the top - it's engaging. Could be a bit faster.
    Good job man! :)

I appreciate your feedback, thank you so much.

I wonder how you built up that reading habit? Something you always had?

    Didn't see the original version.
The 1st page load is pretty meaningless, IDK why your site would do something to my 15 min read..
scrolling down I get that you'r gonna allow me to take notes and bug me with reminders to read and annoy me to share.
I don't see much value, are you basically selling me a niche alerting system?
3rd page is showing me you like numbers and I should too probably if I consider using this. Why does 90000 not have a comma? 90,000. What value does all this math add to the product/sales process?

Does the search and read a book mean you are providing the books?
"Read less but more than ever"? sounds like a line for a book summery service.

    How about doing this:

    • Who is the customer?
    • What is he trying to do?
    • How is your service helping him with a pain he has?

One you can answer these you are way closer to writing a good sales page. "Landing page"

I would love to keep in touch, but your profile gives no channels to reach out to you. no twitter, no email...

        Added an email.

Wow, thank you so much for this negative feedback. No joking, negative but constructive feedback is exactly what I need.

I would love more of your feedback after my iterations.

All well meaning critic, hoping to actually be helpful.

I'm not sure what the site or product is. Reading is good, but where does this website fit in with my reading?

      This is already great feedback.

The overall idea is to help people build a reading habit.

Do you have one? Do you regularly read?

      1. 1

I read, but not on a regular schedule. I'm not looking to change my schedule.

It looks great. It's clear to me what it is and what it does. I really like the numbered points outlining the value proposition (I might do something like that on my landing page). I must admit, I didn't realize they were click-able at first, it might be worth animating those as well to either scroll through or make #2 "blink" to indicate users can interact with it.

Did you build the landing page yourself or use a template/app? Side note, my startup is a data app for businesses, I'm not asking about your landing page to compete with you.

I would not mind even if you would be competing :) That would actually be good news then, meaning there is a market and there are competitors :)

This is actually a bootstrap theme I bought. It has enough components to compose nice things. I am a developer myself, but did not spend any time in the UI. (which is usually a better choice, for me at least :))

The lander design is visually simple and clean but the copy does not convey a solid understanding of a "compelling value proposition".

    I think you're close.

Messaging for a value proposition must address a known pain, define a clear or promising solution and paint a clear picture of the journey and the outcome.

    Keep at it!

This really gave me a perspective.

      Thank you!
