📖 Using a Kindle to read newsletters?

I was working on something this evening and remembered that there are a few newsletters that I need to catch up on.

I'm usually quite busy throughout the day and my reading time is limited to when I'm already in bed, unwinding and getting ready to sleep. That would be the ideal time to catch up on some newsletters.

The problem is though, I really don't want to be staring at a screen right before I go to sleep. To me, the obvious solution would be to just read on a Kindle.

I'm curious if any IndieHackers read their newsletters on a Kindle? Or thought about doing so? What do you use or would you use to pipe your newsletters into Kindle?

There is also an official chrome extension to send docs to your kindle:

I use it to send articles to Kindle. Works really well. I wanted something automated for newsletters though 😄

Not sure if this is you, but I just came across this on BetaList: https://betalist.com/startups/newsletters-to-kindle . Is this what you're looking for?

This looks like exactly what I was talking about. Thanks!

        Hey @SkepticalHippo,
I created Newsletters to Kindle and just stumbled upon this thread. Curious to hear if you tried it and what you thought!

To answer my own question, I think this is a potential way to do read newsletters via Kindle:

Kindles have an email address which can be used to send content to the Kindle. This could potentially be used to receive the newsletters and have them available as "books".

I'm not familiar with recent e-ink Kindle ereaders (I assume you don't mean Kindle Fire tablets). But, if your device can run an RSS app or a web browser, you can susbcribe to Substack and Revue newsletters as they provide RSS feeds.

RSS is a fantastic idea! However, I think the only way to read an RSS feed would be through the extremely clunky Kindle browser.

I still have an old Kindle 3. Do recent Kindles still come with that same clunky browser?

I think I've got a more recent Kindle Paperwhite, but the browser definitely feels like it belongs on an old Nokia phone from 2000s. Can't expect much from an e-ink reader tho! 😄

    Hello @SkepticalHippo,

Papeer Tech might be what you are looking for.

You can export any set of web pages as EPUB. You can also add your RSS feeds and automatically receive them on your Remarkable or Kindle every day.

    Cheers

Just stumbled across this thread as I was looking for something just like this. Couldn't find anything that met my needs so I built it: https://readbetter.io/

Currently supporting only Substack newsletters but will add more soon. Let me know what you think!

I am very proud that I bought myself a Kindle. I read everything I have to read on it. Yes, I read newspapers on Kindle and I think it is comfortable if it is connected to the wi-fi it downloads every day the daily newspaper. When I decided to buy a Kindle I had to choose what Kindle fits my expectations. For me, they all seemed so similar and it was hard for me to decide which kindle to buy. I found a site where is compared Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite and I decided to buy Kindle Paperwhite because it is safer for the eyes and also it's the newest and I think it will work a lot.
