Using Video + LinkedIn to Achieve Meaningful Sales Conversations (>20% response rate)

Been playing around with some cold outreach strategies, and I thought I would share the best tactic I've learned so far πŸ‘‡

Here's a tactical step by step guide on how you can land meetings for your B2B SaaS, regardless of the industry via LinkedIn.

  1. Search for your ideal client. Make your filters similar to the screenshot - it's important that it's your 2nd-degree connections.

  1. Start Connecting: The key here is to NOT add an invite message. It's not worth personalizing these messages, and you'll see why.

  2. Check the recent connections that you made everyday and you can do that here: https://www.linkedin.com/mynetwork/invite-connect/connections/

  1. Now it's time to message, which is the most important step:

I've screenshotted a rough template that you can use, the format goes like this:

  • Intro yourself/company in one sentence.
  • Personalize and talk about them - and how it might relate to your niche.
  • CTA
  • Send

  1. As soon as you send it, record a quick <2 min loom video:
  • Intro yourself again.
  • Talk about them.
  • Include your ask in the video.

Instead of sending off a loom link in the msg, download the video, and send it in Linkedin.

Benefits of this strategy:

  • High response rate <20%
  • Shows that you care.
  • Easier for the person to watch your video inside Linkedin, instead of being redirected.
  • You can use the loom video for cold email outreach if the person doesn't respond on LinkedIn

Cons:

  • Takes a long time (~5/10 min) per reach out.
  • Fatigue (I realized that I had to be consistent, and do only 5-10 a day)

Hopefully this helps some scrappy indie hackers! I've been really enjoying learning by trial and error, and I post these types of learnings primarily on my twitter.
