I use Gsuite for @mybusinessdomain.com email address.
I've recently hit a rough patch when the transactional email provider we use blocked us temporarily without any explanation and without valid reason. It's made me rethink the entire concept of transactional and marketing emails.
I'd like to ask IH:
What if all transactional emails were sent via Gsuite SMTP from our web app?
Are there any downsides?
I'm a solo founder, so I don't need to share my inbox with anyone.
Additionally, a Gsuite integrated CRM like copper.com can supplement this approach nicely to allow me to provide support and direct sales.
Simple Answer: No.
Why? You'll run into limits very soon! https://support.google.com/a/answer/166852?hl=en
Something not mentioned in the support doc: If you use the G Suite email signature on all transactional and marketing emails, it's possible that your normal emails will be caught by the same filters and might impact delivery.
Interesting. Does indeed seem like a bad idea, especially since you can't pay to "upgrade" them.
How can there be so many Gmail CRMs though? It's more targeted at direct sales and not bulk transactional emails and marketing emails I guess.
That's right, the Gmail CRMs focus on 1-to-1 conversations and you're unlikely to hit limits that way. Some of the larger CRMs also stop using Gmail's sending capabilities when you hit a certain point and ask you to add email signing for their mail server.
Why not try something like migadu?
There doesn't seem to be info online about this service, or prices for that matter.
What's it about?
