Something that's surprised me while building Gleam:
Every utility provider has its own language.
TOU.
Super Off-Peak.
Peak.
EV rates.
Demand charges.
Baseline credits.
Net metering.
Time-varying export rates.
Homeowner's arent trying to become an energy experts—they just want to know:
"Am I paying more than I need to?"
I'm starting to think the biggest opportunity isn't giving people more energy data.
It's translating an incredibly complicated system into simple recommendations.
That's the product.
"That's the product." is probably the most important sentence in the post.
People rarely want to understand complex systems—they want enough confidence to make the next decision.
