Validate my idea: convert an .xls file into an infographic

@timbowhite, your idea kept me awake last night thinking of possibilities.... lets see if I can be somewhat articulate.

Use-case 1: We now ask GPT4 for tabulized data for non-marketing noise research or evidence based decision making. For example:

• list of app alternatives (year launched)
• recent trends e.g. sharing (access) economy (popular infographic 'ARC from Applause'), no-code, refill solutions to plastic problem etc..

Use-case 2: Linear explainers

• Simple 'How it Works' visuals on LPs -- 3-4 steps with snippet content (header and content) + visual
• Timelines?. They for me are the most column intensive that even crappy looking infographics, help humans digest content

Use-case 3: Could the app improve communication of models for devs?

AND then, wanderlust....

• If truelly done well, it will be significant. The sense I got, was it has potential to be a similar AHA for me as learning the power of generative dialogue via ChatGPT (aka context is retained well)
• Most humans are still missing the power of context, and its criticality in all human-communication. ChatGPT is a refreshing life-saver for us who are highly kinesthetic where context is critical in us 'getting something'.
• Infographic dialogue provides context even more quickly.

maybe like:

• I ask chatgpt.. give me an anology for xx.. highlighting the teachable points of yy...
• I learn to ask chatgpt in a way it gathers the data to input into your app
• your app generates the "infographic dialogue" (need a coined term here)

Imagine a VP test here on IH. Explain the VP in short sentences, gather data as evidence (using GPT4), input into your app for explainer. Many are saying they have LP conversion problems here, but in fact it is lack of clarity around VP, or VP not validated by the correct niche.

If so, many 'snippet dialogue infographic' use-cases'

To be clear:

• yesterday: when you wrote infographic, I was thinking infographic as in traditional sense of infographic. The visual storyboard.
• today: infographic as snippet. single point focus. using data as evidence. Very different style of infographic. It is what I call at-a-glance communication. Big-picture point.

@nstubbe feedback on another post applies to here re: trusted source. When data anything is automated, we need a validation check of some sort. Record count by hiearachy perhaps ?

Lol! Yes, the MVP will probably make crap images. I agree that the best infographics explore the subject data concisely at a high-level, while being both artistic and visually pleasing.

The initial idea is to start with these simple table/grid/list images, and then probably expand to more complex graphics if the service gains traction.

These simple images are just an easier way for users to visually share basic data over text messages, image boards, twitter, etc. Short form stuff.

Maybe this is a better example of an image this service might create from a basic .csv of movies and their genres:

There are already many useless infographics out there.

And the people making them are my niche for the initial MVP. I just have to figure out who they are and if they'll pay money for it. r/dataisbeautiful might be a good start.

HOWEVER -- an AI tool that coaches story telling either graphical elements (dashboard or infographic)

Love it. At a basic level, the data could be fed to an LLM/AI service to get an idea of the best visual format for representation (i.e. bar chart, steamgraph, heatmap, whatever).

or animated (explainer GIFs) or short form film...

Great idea. Again, this would be far down the road, but editly is a FOSS tool that can be used for creating basic gifs/videos and it can be easily scripted.
