This pandemic situation got me thinking, what would be a good way for people who unexpectedly got unemployed to still provide and make money, and for businesses to be more future-proof in terms of employment.
I've tried freelancing before and it's always been hard for me to break through since there's always people better than me at what I do and offering their service for cheaper.
What if there was a better way to go about things? My idea is combining the good parts of productivity tools such as Jira with their issue tracking + project management, with the accessibility and flexibility in getting personnel not unlike Airtasker / Uber. There should also be less focus on the money involved, but more on the results/performance (I guess really similar to Uber) - but with a handicap for newcomers so it's easier to expose them to more experience.
So for businesses it gives a productivity tool that easily gets slated in between the overall architecture of project/issue/task management, with the added benefit of having access to a network of personnel at one's fingertips. For personnel, the value is in getting jobs that have more quality than menial tasks, and having to get help with starting out than the usual players (Fiverr, Freelancer, Upwork, etc.)
