Validating a SaaS idea for freelancers: automated follow-ups for unpaid invoices

Hi everyone — I’m exploring a SaaS idea and would really appreciate some honest feedback before building further.

One problem I keep hearing from freelancers is chasing late payments. People send invoices, then end up manually checking spreadsheets or sending awkward reminder emails to follow up.

The idea I’m exploring is a simple tool where freelancers can:
• use AI to create or upload invoices
• track which ones are unpaid or overdue
• AI automatically sends polite follow-up reminders until payment is received

The goal is basically: “Set it up once and never chase invoices again.”

I put together a quick landing page and a mock dashboard to visualize what the product might look like:

Right now I’m mainly trying to validate a few things before building an MVP:

  1. Would something like this actually be useful for freelancers?
  2. What tools do people currently use to track unpaid invoices?
  3. If it genuinely saved time and helped recover late payments, what would feel like a fair monthly price? ($5, $10, $20?)

If you’ve freelanced before or built products for freelancers, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Even critical feedback is welcome. I’m trying to figure out whether this solves a real problem or if I’m overestimating it.
