Hi all, for the last 2 days I have put together a little application that I plan to incorporate into a software business I own a part of, as an extension of the business.
The application is a webpage where you can enter your pain point and it will give you a curated list of tools that you could be using in your business to abolish your pain point or improve your current business processes.
I have seen many companies, mainly SMEs, that have very slow and inefficient processes in their organization. I see a lot of room for improvement in most businesses I meet with.
My plan is to make it simpler for these businesses to "upgrade" their business processes and kill their pain points by means of exposing existing free and paid tools available in the market, to these businesses, because most of these people don't know that such tools even exist.
I then want to teach them how to use these tools efficiently, and if something custom needs to be built, like an API integration, custom tool, etc. I can offer a software development service to them, since I have this at my disposal.
The temporary URL of the application is: https://painkiller.mornelombard.com/
I would like to ask for feedback regarding the content/copy and the structure of the page(s) as well as which pricing model I should go with:
Feel free to leave your ideas, suggestions and feedback, I will be grateful for it 😊
Thank you!
I think the idea is great and has a lot of potential, also for indie developers.
I managed only to find tools for communication and none of my other searches worked (time, tracking, wiki etc). I know that this is just a PoC and you will enter more tools, but maybe add some more examples.
I expected the business model to be affiliate links to the tools, but you are going for consulting package, which may be better for businesses.
I personally don’t think that the ad hoc development thing fits well in there. Maybe something like a contact form where the user can ask for consultation may work better.
Thanks Vladimir, I appreciate your feedback. I'm constantly adding new tools, and also a feature where you can view all tools/solutions by means of a categories that you're interested in. Thanks for the feedback on the pricing as well, I think it is a better idea to rather have an option where users can contact me to set up consultation time, maybe with something like Calendly 💪🏻
I like the idea, there's definitely something there. Having sold to HR depts in enterprises, I can tell you that teams in big companies could find use in this for their own team-level needs.
As far as the copy is concerned, I would put the search box in your hero (above the fold), to me the whole flow starts there!
Thanks for your comment Lukas! I moved the search bar block into the hero and I think it looks better 😁 Thanks for sharing. I also noticed you entered a search term, but no tools were found for it, it's because I have not yet added any tools for what you searched for. I've only added about 15 tools, just to test the concept. The tools I have are based around team collaboration and minimize email 😋
Awesome, glad I could help!
