Each country's real current format — Germany's district-coded M-AB 1234, France's AB-965-KL, Ireland's year-and-county 262-D-12345, the Netherlands' sidecode.

Where a plate encodes a region, the code comes from the real registry (Germany's Unterscheidungszeichen, Romania's 42 counties, Poland's wyróżniki), so it's genuine and filterable. Plus the classes whose format actually differs — military, diplomatic, taxi, historic — and an era switch for the legacy formats still on the road.

Plates carry no checksum, so there's no invalid mode. Saying that plainly is part of the product.
