Veo 3.1 vs Sora 2: AI Video Generation in 2025 🎬🤖

Really interesting comparison, I’m building a small app that helps people visualize stories, and I’ve been thinking about adding short video summaries for books.
The “Sora 2” style feels closer to what I’d need, though pricing might be the tricky part..

The difference in target users feels similar to what happened with photo tools years ago, Lightroom vs Instagram. If Veo’s API really opens up for devs, we might see apps that use Sora for ideation and Veo for production polish. That combo could be where AI video really starts replacing traditional motion design pipelines.

Personally, I’m a big fan of Sora 2. The short videos it generates are really popular on Reddit.

I also have ChatGPT Pro so have access to the best Sora 2 Pro model. I must say it is extremely impressive. Much better than Veo 3.1 from my experience. The audio matches exactly how the video is and doesn't feel like the same sounds/voices as Veo does.

This is a common pain point for founders. For getting your first users, have you tried targeted cold emails? You could reach out to founders of other SaaS companies or agency owners who likely have a dozen subscriptions they're trying to manage. Your solving a real pain point, so they'll listen. We saw a similar tool get 50-60 qualified meetings a month just from this. Happy to share some pointers here :)

I have tried both of them, for now, I am more into Sora2, it can help me generate the videos for my work, the convenience and speed of it is much more important at this stage.

The development of AI video is indeed very fast. Compared to the earliest video software, this is a very good progress and development.
