Video Game Landing Page

https://landing.gaminglight.com/policerp

This is a small video game community, aimed at teens in the game, Garry's Mod. I tried to keep the images relatively small in size for loading. Please give as much feedback as possible!

I'd move the auto-connect button right underneath the IP address so it's above the fold and prominent.

It may also make sense to switch the position of the 'apply staff' and 'other features' sections. As it stands right now, you start listing custom content features, then ask for staff, then list more features. It feels a bit disjointed.

Beyond that, as far as attracting GMod players, this probably covers what you need to hit. If the goal is to convert those players into regular donations, I think a little bit more polish might go a long way. Some ideas:

    • Fallback fonts aren't working if Google Fonts doesn't load Rubik (they fallback to serif). Everywhere where you list font-family: Rubik, you may consider changing it to font-family: Rubik, sans-serif
    • There is a stylized Comic Sans alternative on Google Fonts called Comic Neue which may be a better pick given comic sans isn't available on all computers (phones+Linux) -- https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Comic+Neue?query=comic#standard-styles
    • Some sections are using Comic Sans and others not which looks poor. Comic Sans is also being used for body text which is probably the wrong way around -- you might as well shove it in people's faces as the headline text and make the body readable.
    • You can play around with the headlines more above the fold. Perhaps put 'Gaminglight PoliceRP' above the logo and keep everything else below?
    • One of the bullet streaks makes 'Gaminglight PoliceRP' hard to read in its current position on large monitors. Perhaps add a semi-opaque background to the text?
    • 'Most Departments in PoliceRP Garry's Mod' seems slightly awkward. Perhaps just adding a 'The' to the beginning would be better.
    • Throw a donation link at the bottom. It can't hurt even though it's much higher up in the funnel.

^^ Zwei is absolutely right about the button to connect.
It's also important to think about what you want more out of the community when using this website.
      Do you want more players?
      Do you want more staff?

If you already have done this, great.
It might also help to think of a way to have the links you want to have people click the most closest to the top.

Good job making it responsive in a readable way. There are still a lot of people who forget this.

What's the goal of the landing page? like advertise your server?

    1. 1

Yeah to get people into the server. Basically the first part of the funnel.
