Vote on my next business name (I need your help I can't decide!)
My fellow indie hackers,
I have come to you in a time of great need.
I cannot decide on a name for my next venture.
My project will be a flight notification app that will send you cheap flight alerts for your local airport.
The problem is that anytime with the word flight is already taken since this niche is pretty competitive.
Therefore I have narrowed it down to three and I need your help because I can't decide.
FlightCake
pros: unique, fun
cons: cake has nothing to do with what I am doing
FlightConnect
pros: professional, makes sense for what I am doing
cons: kinda of boring, .com domain is for sale but probably going to be expensive
Flight Deal Hub
pros: makes sense, you know exactly what it is by reading the name
cons: also sounds boring

I like FlightCake. And I think there is a connection: "Makes finding flight deals a piece of cake!" .. Good enough!
Agree with you on the dullness of other names. If I saw one of those in search results, I would immediately think "crappy coupon aggregator".

hahahaha that might work. I agree, there is something about the name that kinda of grabs your attention.
Hmm I think prefer the creativity of the first over the generic other two. But I also don't think .com is that much better for a project like this so if you like Flightconnect I'd just pick up the .io or .co for that. Here's some other ideas to think about:
notifly.co - Smash "Flight notifications" together get Notifly. Available on Namecheap $125, the .com is taken nut unused. If the app falls together you could always pivot to some sort of Notion + flights data project haha.
goflylist.com - Play on "no fly list". .com is available but $970 but most other TLDs are available cheaper
flightplans.co - The .com is available but costs $58,200, so I'd grab the .co or .io for it.

That's a good point. Trying to come up with 12k just for a side project isn't gonna happen
