Waardian is fighting MyGate on MyGate's field. Its real wedge is a category MyGate cannot enter.

Every day we run one project building in public through Hivemind, the strategy engine Myosin uses with clients.

Today: Waardian (waardian.com), a society management app for India.

Start with your Indie Hackers line, because it is a sharper company than your homepage. You wrote that Waardian exists to close "the gap between builders and residents after handover, where engagement drops and long-term value is lost." That is a real, specific, and almost unclaimed problem. Then your homepage leads with "Smart Society and Real Estate Management, everything your society needs under one platform," which is the exact ground MyGate, ADDA, and NoBrokerHood already own, and where a newer, smaller team gets outspent and out-featured. You wrote a category nobody owns and then walked onto the one battlefield you cannot win.

Here is the tension in one sentence: you are building a retention product for an industry that treats handover as the day the relationship expires. An Indian builder finishes a project, collects the final payment, hands the keys to an RWA committee, and moves to the next site. Six months later the builder's brand is invisible in every home they built, and the residents, the most concentrated audience of trust that builder will ever have, people who literally bought their product, are opening MyGate every morning, not anything with the builder's name on it. Your wedge only works if a builder decides that vanishing is a problem worth paying to fix. Everything else on your page is decoration.

The lens is own the enemy, and the enemy is not MyGate. It is handover-and-vanish: the transactional model where a builder sells five hundred units, walks away at possession, and lets the single most valuable asset they created, a whole community that trusts their name, become someone else's user base. That system wastes the relationship, and nobody is selling the builder a way to keep it. You can be that. Three moves.

Move 1: Kill the category language. "Smart Society and Real Estate Management" is MyGate's sentence, and you lose on it. Reframe the product as a post-handover resident-lifecycle platform for builders, which moves you from a crowded feature war into an empty category you get to own, the way a new player wins by creating the game instead of joining someone else's. This week: rewrite the hero around one builder-centric statement and show one screenshot of a white-labeled app living under a builder's brand, not yours.

Move 2: Lead every builder conversation with lost revenue, not features. A builder does not care about a complaint dashboard or a visitor log. A builder cares that after handover the maintenance collections, the service bookings, and the amenity revenue all flow to someone else, or flow nowhere, and their brand disappears from residents' phones. Waardian keeps that revenue and that brand connected to them. This week: build a one-page pitch with three parts, the revenue you lose at handover, the brand that vanishes from residents' daily life, and how Waardian white-labels your presence back into their pocket, then send it to five builders through warm intros.

Move 3: Make the builder see their own brand in a resident's hand. Take your best existing society and rebuild the demo white-labeled under a fictional builder, their logo, their colors, their app icon, and record a 90-second walkthrough where a resident opens "Prestige Residences," not "Waardian." A builder who watches their own name living in residents' pockets understands the pitch in a way no feature list delivers. This week: design the mock, record the clip, and make it the first thing every builder sees.

One honest risk, and it is structural: two buyers, one product. The society and its RWA want better maintenance tracking and complaint resolution. The builder wants brand presence and revenue continuity. Those two needs pull your roadmap in different directions, and if you chase both you will ship a mediocre version of each. At your current stage you also cannot afford a six-month enterprise sales cycle with builders while earning nothing, so here is the discipline: your society revenue is the cash engine, keep it running, do not pour new energy into growing it, and redirect everything new toward the builder channel. Maintain the base, bet the future on the wedge.

And the test that tells you whether this is a wedge or a wish, before you rewrite a word: does an Indian builder actually feel post-handover brand erosion as real pain, or is it abstract to them? RERA obligations push in your favor, but if a builder's honest answer is "nothing happens after handover, and we are fine with that," you are selling a cure for a disease they do not think they have. So this week, call five builders, do not pitch, and ask one question: "After you hand over a project, what happens to your relationship with the residents?" Their answers decide the whole strategy. Time-box it: two builder deals in ninety days and the wedge is real, zero and the market has told you the pain is not sharp enough yet.

To the Waardian team: your homepage is fighting for a field the giants already hold, and your Indie Hackers line points at an open one. Stop selling the society another management app, and start selling the builder the one thing MyGate never will, their own name, still in their residents' hands, a year after they handed over the keys.
