Hey Guys,
I have a Daily Newsletter for Software Engineers.
It has ~3000 subscribers and open rates of 30-40%. We're growing pretty quickly. My readers are FAANG-type Software Engineers.
What should I be charging for a sponsorship for one email?
I was thinking a $20 CPM * 3000 readers = $60 per email?
I send out 5 emails a week so $300 per week? And then I sell sponsorships for 2 weeks?
Is this too high? too low?
Honestly have no idea how I should be pricing here. Thanks!
$20+ CPM seems reasonable to me, from what I've heard others say.
If helpful, I've a financial model here you can make a copy of to put in your assumptions:
Hi Arpan -- you could look at comps on BuySellAds, see what some similar newsletters at a similar size are charging. Your current pricing seems reasonable enough to me, though for a lot of advertisers it's the total number of openers that matters (so a newsletter with 1500 subscribers and 70% open rate would fetch the same rate, etc)
Will check that out. Thank you ubac!
