Most people assume alcohol ruins their sleep. We compared ~15,000 alcohol vs non-alcohol nights using the same users, same wearables — and the results weren't what we expected.

Turns out alcohol doesn't significantly affect time in deep, light, or REM sleep. What it does is make your sleep completely unpredictable — more fragmented, more time awake, and your body working harder to breathe.
