Hey Indie Hackers! 👋
We (my partner and I) just finished building something we wished existed: 9xChat — a floating AI chat workspace where you can talk to multiple LLMs (GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, etc.) side by side, track prompts, and work distraction-free.
We were both using AI daily for writing, building, testing, ideating. But juggling between different tools was frustrating:
So many tabs
Lost prompts
No way to compare models easily
No real workspace to “think” across AI outputs
While staying in –18°C Leh last December, sipping tea and building stuff (I was designing an art book, he was deep in model testing and building software and tools like 9xbuddy ), we decided to prototype a minimal, personal solution.
That turned into 9xChat.
Compare GPT, Claude, Gemini, and others in one floating window
Use your own API keys (no vendor lock-in)
Keep a running prompt diary
Take notes inside your chat
No login or signup required
Lightweight and designed to stay out of your way
We wanted something that felt like a command center for thinkers — not just another chatbot clone
We’re offering a free trial so anyone curious can test it. Just drop in your API keys and start chatting:

We’re still iterating. Would love to hear:
What’s missing?
Would you use this for your projects?
Any UX or dev pain points?
Thanks for reading! And if you’re building something cool with LLMs, let’s connect always happy to swap notes.
