We Built a Cleaning Management App for Airbnb Hosts — Here's Why

As indie makers, we live for those moments when a problem is so clear, the solution almost builds itself.

That’s what happened with Pinggle.app — our new lightweight tool that helps Airbnb and guestroom hosts manage their cleaning operations with zero friction.

Let me walk you through what we built, why we built it, and what we’re learning from launching in public.

🧹 The Problem: Hosts are tired of chasing cleaners

We interviewed 12 Airbnb hosts who operate multiple listings. Every one of them had the same pain point:

“I’m juggling 3 group chats with cleaners. I never know if the job's actually done unless I double-check.”

Most weren’t using any dedicated tools — just WhatsApp or KakaoTalk and a messy checklist in Google Sheets.

What they really wanted was:

A simple way to know if a cleaning is done
A lightweight system that cleaners can use without friction
No more chasing people for confirmation or photos

💡 Our Hypothesis

Instead of building a heavyweight property management tool, what if we just built a lightweight status loop?

Cleaners report what they did → via mobile-friendly chat
Hosts see everything at a glance → via simple dashboard

No setup. No training. No BS.

We called it Pinggle. Think of it as the "cleaning done" button for hosts.

🛠️ How It Works

1. Cleaners send a cleaning report via chat
Snap a photo, write a note, hit submit.
No login. No app. Just a link.

2. Hosts view the report in a dashboard
See who cleaned, when, and any issues — all at a glance.

3. No more message chasing
Pinggle becomes the accountability layer between hosts and cleaners.

🧪 What We Learned from Our First Users

We launched Pinggle.app with a few pilot users — some with one guestroom, others with 5+ listings.

Here’s what they told us:

✅ “I didn’t need to explain anything to the cleaner. That’s huge.”
✅ “Seeing photos right after each turnover helps me sleep better.”
❗ “I want to be notified only when something goes wrong.”
❗ “Would be great to schedule cleaners from the dashboard someday.”

We're iterating fast. The current version focuses on accountability. Next up: notifications and basic scheduling.

⚙️ Tech Stack & Build Notes

We built it fast and lean:

Frontend: Framer
Backend: Firebase Auth + Firestore (realtime sync)
Chat system: Custom UI with file upload + webhook trigger
No-code tools: Used early for prototype validation

📈 What’s Next

We’re currently:

Talking to 10+ more hosts
Gathering usage data and watching heatmaps
Building filters to notify hosts only when cleaners flag a problem
