Hey Indie Hackers,
As founders, we all need to know what's happening on our websites. But I found myself frustrated with the current state of web analytics. Traditional tools are either privacy nightmares (heavy cookies, PII storage), overly complex dashboards that require a certification to understand, or constantly polluted by bot traffic and referrer spam that ruins the data.
So, I built Alternytics.
My goal was to create an analytics platform that is completely secure by design, keeps the data impeccably clean, and actually translates metrics into a clear business strategy for non-technical founders.
Here is what makes it different:
🛡️ Radical Privacy & Transparency: Alternytics uses zero cookies, zero local storage, and zero cross-site tracking. To track unique visitors without storing raw IP addresses, we use a daily-rotating salted cryptographic hash. Because security and trust are everything, I actually made our core ingestion tracker available on a public GitHub repo so DPOs and developers can audit our anonymization process themselves.
🤖 The AI Executive Consultant: Instead of making you dig through complex charts, Alternytics has a built-in AI that reads your data and generates a jargon-free, strategic audit in plain English (or French). It tells you exactly what your human growth rate is, what your dominant acquisition channels are, and gives you 2-3 concrete, actionable recommendations based on your actual conversions.
🛑 Server-Side Anti-Bot Shield: Data is only useful if it's accurate. We built a strict server-side shield with speed traps and referrer blacklists to silently drop crawlers and spam before they ever reach your dashboard.
I am sharing this here because I would love to get feedback from this community. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the product or the architecture!
this is a really thoughtful approach, especially around privacy + clean data. What’s the moment where a founder actually feels this is already useful vs just exploring dashboards or reading insights? Often have great depth but early on the difference between interesting data and this changed what I’ll do next is what makes people stick. With the AI consultant, does it feel actionable right away or more like something you come back to later? So I can take a look at the first time experience and point out where that first value moment might be getting delayed.
