We built a social network and grew it to 100K+ users only to pivot

Hey Indiehackers,

This is Senthil from Wylo. I just wanted to share our story with all of you.

In 2019, we started out as a community-based social network where people can subscribe to their interests, join their fav communities, explore content they love, and connect with like-minds.

We raised our pre-seed. We expanded our team. We even got featured in some top media.

We tested numerous strategies, built different features, and tried various channels.

We even grew our user base to 100K+ users.

Later, we understood the market and people’s needs. We learned that growth alone is not enough besides many other things the hard way.

We also looked at the retrospect and realized what our strength is - building communities.

So in Dec 2022, we made a big decision. We pivoted into a SaaS community platform that lets brands and creators run their own exclusive communities and experience community-led growth.

As of now, we already have a comprehensive web application and a few customers and prospects in the pipeline. If you'd like to run an online community, you can check out our site and launch your community in a few minutes.

Our focus now is to build more features and help more brands and creators experience the true power of a community. Speaking of which, we're also readying for our first big Product Hunt launch coinciding with our major product update in a few weeks. I'm pretty sure that it would be a great add-on for anyone who wants to build a comprehensive and customized community online.

And that's it for now. I’m hopefully planning to share our small wins, updates, misses, stories, lessons, and whatnot with all of you every week in the hope that they give you something of value.

If you’d like to connect, please feel to connect with me on my socials. Always open to good conversations and learnings!
