Hey IH! I've been commenting here for a bit and figured it's time to share what we're building.
The problem we kept seeing: Every founder and small business owner we talked to said the same thing — "I know I need to run ads, but I don't have time to design them and can't afford a designer." They'd spend 2-3 hours in Canva making a single ad, or pay $500+ for an agency to create a handful of creatives.
What we built: AdShot (adshot.co) — paste any URL and get ready-to-post ad creatives for 13 platforms in about 30 seconds. No design skills needed.
How it works: You paste your website or product page URL. Our AI scrapes the page, understands your brand, product, and value prop. It generates carousels, static images, ad copy, and targeting suggestions. You get platform-ready creatives for Facebook, Instagram, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and more.
The tech: Next.js 15, React 19, TypeScript, Supabase, Stripe, Claude API for the AI layer. Image generation through FLUX/fal.ai. The scraping pipeline extracts brand colors, product images, key messaging, and even detects Shopify stores for specialized templates.
What we learned: Nobody searches for "AI ad generation." What they actually feel is "I need to run ads but I have no idea how to make them look good." Once we stopped talking about AI features and started talking about that anxiety, everything clicked.
Where we are: Still early. Free tier available. Looking for feedback from founders who want to run ads but struggle with the creative side.
