We changed our pricing and it's working really well

https://blog.leavemealone.app/why-we-changed-our-pricing/

So we just released a new version of our product (leavemealone.app) and I wanted to share a post I wrote about how wrong our previous pricing model was and how we changed it to be better for both us and our customers :)

Love the pricing model of credits for this. Applying this concept to a product like ours (standupbot.com) would be interesting. Your change is thought-provoking for sure.

Thank you for reading! It was important to us that we weren't increasing the pricing, but making the model better and facilitating many other positive changes with the service :)

How are you able to convince people to pay for leavemealone.app when Unroll.me is free?

I am asking because discovering a cheaper or free alternative stops me from building a product. It has happened to me several times and I am really tired and sick.

If you can share your motivation and how you overcame knowing that there are many services offering the same thing for free, It will help me to stick to an idea no matter what.

Co-founder here. We think that with all the very public data privacy scandals recently, there's been a big shift in the way users think about free products.

As a result users are more likely to choose a paid service over a free one if it means they can be sure their data will be protected.

Unroll.me for example were exposed for selling users' email data to third parties in a misleading way.

If you have an desireable hook that differentiates you from the competition and you can market it well, then there will be users who will choose paid over free.

        Thank you @jivings.

I am sure that there are a lot of people out there who never heard about unroll.me (myself included before your post) but heard of leavemealone. I would say that this is the main "how".

I think what differs leavemealone to other similar services is the privacy concern, many people choose to pay instead of let their data to be stored and sold in other ways.

Absolutely! That is one of our two main differences from our competitors. The privacy aspect is one of the core reasons for building Leave Me alone and really important to us. The other difference is we actually unsubscribe from the emails, so users are not tied to our service in any way :)
